Problem: The goal was to make an online magazine feature, but one that had interactive elements. The page had to be well designed, but not overly so to showcase both the journalistic design and the interactiveness.
Solution: To do this, I used a simple modular design to help keep the page less busy. Then, I treated the interactive elements, like the slideshow and video as photos so they would not look like they were thrown randomly on the page. I also added a Google Map and bird infographic so people can get an idea of where the story is taking place and what other birds have been seen there.
